This article for the AFP by Tom Hancock is full of gold. Liu Chonghua, cake magnate, is evidently good at two things: building castles, and giving ridiculous quotes to journalists.

On the meaning of life:

"I don't have any hobbies, except for planting trees and building castles."

On achieving one's goals:

"I wanted to turn the castles of my dreams into something real."

On class equality:

"China needs castles, because it needs a more pluralistic culture. A city needs people who have dreams, to help society develop."

On fighting power:

"The government has never appreciated me, they said I've offended local officials. I got anonymous calls from someone threatening to run me over with a car."
