Carlos Tevez: Chinese Players 'Aren't Skilled' and Never Will Be

It seem Carlos Tevez does not take kindly to being called a big fat fatty.

After Shanghai Shenhua boss Wu Jingui announced he was too tubby to play, and Chairman Wu Xiaohui conceded that the Argentine striker is a flop in China, the former Manchester United and City star responded with all the maturity of a Trump-Jong un exchange.

"Chinese players are not as naturally skilled like South American or European players. Like players who learned football when they were kids,” the 33-year-old told French television station SFR Sport. "They’re not good. Even in 50 years, they still won’t be able to compete."

Tevez joined the Chinese Super League side from Boca Juniors amid huge fanfare in December, due to a contract reportedly worth GBP32 million a year - or a pound a second.

He was a disappointment from the outset though; his first game saw them crashing out of the AFC Champions League before it had properly even begun, going down 2-0 to Australia's Brisbane Roar in their qualification game.

Shenhua currently lie 11th in the 16 team league, Tevez having played 16 games and scoring just three goals (including the consolation goal in the 6-1 Shanghai Derby thrashing to SIPG last weekend).

Tevez has regularly been linked with a return to Boca Juniors. Looks like someone is engineering that move as quickly as possible, despite more than a year remaining on his contract.
