A man in Guangzhou was recently hospitalized after he lodged a glass cup deep inside his anus, according to an article carried by Tencent News.
The incident comes a few months after a man in the Guangdong city of Zhongshan shoved a liquor bottle up his ass, allegedly to relieve spice-induced bowel issues.
The man involved in this most recent 'assident' reportedly lasted two days with the cup up his butt before heading to the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in desperate need of medical attention.
An X-ray taken at the hospital revealed that the 8-centimeter tall, 7-centimeter diameter cup was resting at a slight angle inside the man’s bowel.
After a failed attempt to remove the object through its point of entry, doctors resorted to surgery, cutting through the intestine to reach the glass, which appears to have a small chip on the top.
After a week in the hospital, the man had recovered enough to return home.
The reason the man inserted the cup into his butt is currently unknown, as he refused to divulge this information to hospital staff.
Doctors from the hospital are warning the public that those bent on shoving objects up their ass must be very careful, stressing that because anal tissue is so fragile, repeated insertions might cause bleeding.
Anyone in a similar jam is encouraged to get to the hospital immediately for assistance. Or should we say, ass-istance.
