Hebei man aims for world record with 405 kg shoes

A 51 year old man from Tangshan, Hebei province is planning to apply for a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. His unparalleled skill? He can walk in really heavy shoes

Zhang Fuxing practices daily in a pair of iron shoes weighing 405 kilograms (890 lb), around seven times his own weight. Zhang walks about a dozen metres (40 feet) every morning, which usually takes around 20 minutes. 

A factory worker, Zhang came up with idea of becoming the world's best heavy-shoe-walker seven years ago. The first pair of shoes he made himself weighed 70 kilos (154 lb) and he's been adding weight ever since.
