We already saw record breaking temperatures during the month of April. But now it looks like May might also be one for the books.

A "dangerous" heatwave is expected to smother the capital from Wednesday until Saturday, according to AccuWeather

According to our trusty iPhones, the temperature is expected to spike to 35C (95F) on Wednesday. But if you think that’s hot, it’s going to reach a whopping 38C (100.4F) on both Thursday and Friday.

To put it in perspective the average high for this time of year is 27C – so we’re going to be experiencing temperatures 10-plus degrees beyond that. This scorching heat will be more like something we'd suffer through during the hottest summer months.

According to AccuWeather these soaring temperatures might even approach Beijing's all-time record of 41.9C (107.4F), which was recorded in July of 1999. A cold front is expected to sweep in from Friday until Sunday, giving Beijingers a much needed reprieve from the heat. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the weekend.

Given how warm this spring has shaped up to be, we’re almost scared to see just how blazing hot this summer will be.
