Donald Trump is a massive fan of Xi Jinping these days.

When he's not gushing over having "great chemistry" with his new BFF, The Donald is fawning over the Chinese leader while he gets schooled on North Korea and backs down from labeling China a currency manipulator. And making LOTS of phone calls.

Donald Trump Xi Jinping love
Awww?

But is the budding Bromance between them the real deal, or is it just unrequited love with a side of awkward handshakes and 'beautiful' chocolate cakes at Mar-a-Lago?

According to the New York Times, it may very well be the latter, with Xi reportedly starting to get annoyed with the aforementioned frequent phone calls:

"Mr. Trump, who likes to do business by phone, is acquiring a reputation for pestering Mr. Xi. He called the Chinese president four days after their summit meeting in Florida last month, saying afterward on Twitter that he had had 'a very good call' with Mr. Xi about the 'menace of North Korea.'

"He called again on April 23... Chinese officials [said] that after that call, Mr. Xi did not appreciate being treated like a midlevel official. Mr. Trump should realize that the Chinese president sets the framework for policies but cannot be expected to keep a checklist of tasks, the officials told him."

Trump is set to visit China later this year.
