Police in Taipei had to use ladders to remove a 30 year old man who had himself taped to a wall 'to impress his girlfriend', Xinhua reports

The man, surnamed Xie, had friends secure him in place on a wall located at Zhongxiaodong Road and Dunhuanan Road using a vast quantity of duct tape.

"LOVE IS EVERYTHING" and "BABY, I LOVE YOU" were written on the wall in English.

Xie was briefly detained by police after they took him down, but no charges were pressed.

According to ECNS "Xie's girlfriend was not present to witness the performance."
