Last week we told you that the new Star Wars film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story snagged a China release.
Disney has now officially confirmed the film's China release date. Rogue One will hit Chinese theaters on January 6, 2017.
Meanwhile, the movie will be released in Taiwan on December 14 and Hong Kong on December 15, according to IMDb.
In a push to appeal to Chinese viewers, the film stars Hong Kong action hero Donnie Yen and Chinese actor Wen Jiang.
Disney has been making big marketing moves to build awareness for the series, which still remains somewhat unknown in the Mainland. In fact, it wasn't until recently that the original films were screened in China for the very first time.
The most recent installment of the series, The Force Awakens, had a rather disappointing performance at the Chinese box office this year, earning just RMB824.74 million in ticket sales in its first four weeks.
