Chongqing is building a giant instant coffee factory, which will make the city home to China's largest factory for terrible hot drinks disguised as coffee.
The factory, set to be completed in 2018, will no doubt be a major boost to China's liquid disappointment industry and tap into increasing consumer demand for coffee flavored water.
The gross, powdery wannabe factory will cost RMB1 billion to build, and is set to produce 10,000 tonnes of sad coffee imitation powder (freeze-dried coffee), 2,000 tonnes of watered down mud (liquid coffee concentrate) and 3,000 tonnes of lameness (baked coffee beans) per year.
Chongqing's state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission claims the factory's freeze-dried manufacturing technique means the powder will dissolve faster, allowing you to make a lovely cup of parody coffee in just seconds. You can even brew it in cold water if you're craving a cold cup of instant tears.
Demand for coffee has grown exponentially in China, with imports increasing from 13,900 tonnes in 1998 to 59,200 in 2015.
