Prosecutors have consented for the arrest of a drunk driver who allegedly broke into a residential complex and damaged 17 parked cars. If the case follows through, he will be charged for endangering public safety.

At 1am on October 10th, a 28-year-old driver surnamed Zhang allegedly drove home severely drunk, making his way to Xingnan Lu where he severly smashed up some property. Prosecutors claim he drank 500 grams of distilled spirits as well as some beer, making him well over the limit of legal limit of 20 milligrams per 100 millimeters.

Zhang said he was too intoxicated to remember getting into his semi-trailer, driving his vehicle through the parking wall and then rushing into the residential complex. In the process of getting home, he hit 17 cars parked cars, but luckily no one was hurt. Zhang was reportedly a Henan Province-based company driver.

Hopefully events such as this will be prevented in the future with new breathalyzers that will detect those over the limit using a whistle.
