Wu Yulu might seem like an average farmer, but he's actually somewhat of a robot-making genius. And lately his creations have garnered him a fair amount of fame in Beijing.

For the past 30 years or so, Wu has managed to teach himself the ins and outs of robot making. Despite the fact that he’s only received a primary school education, Wu has not only been able to design his own robots but he’s literally crafted them from scraps of metal and other found materials from his Tongzhou neighborhood.

After three decades, the inventor has now invented 63 robots, which he regards fondly as his ‘children,’ Global Times reports.

Much like real children, each of Wu’s robots is unique. Aside from varying in size and appearance, the robots also have different talents, so to speak. Some of them can jump, while others can paint, drink, pull carts and play chess. He’s even designed one that can give massages.
