90 Firefighters Respond to Deadly Dongguan Blaze

Tragedy struck in Dongguan’s Dalang Township last week when fire tore through a rental home, killing nine people, according to Business Standard.

The incident was first reported to emergency responders at 4.51am on August 14 and resulted in the dispatch of 90 firefighters and 18 fire engines. Fourteen residents were rescued from inside the burning building, reported china.org.cn, while three escaped under their own power.

The cause of the blaze is still unknown and authorities are investigating.
