PHOTOS: Bizarre Naked Statues Removed in Shandong

Planning to travel to Jinan in Shandong province any time soon? Well, we regret to inform you that you will no longer be able to include its famed Naked Statues in your itinerary. 

In downtown Jinan, there are — or, were — two giant statues of a naked man-baby. And when we say naked, we mean naked. They were built two years ago, and, according to the local media, have been attracting "unwanted attention."

The local government decided to remove them not only because of some "irregularities" in their construction, but also because of their "impact on the facade of nearby buildings," according to People's Daily.

We will now simply leave these photos here for you to decide for yourself whether they were worthy of the "unwanted attention," and what kind of "impact" they must have had on the city scenery:
