The primary suspect in Haidian’s bus stop murder case committed suicide earlier today, CRIENGLISH.com reports.
Jin Chongqi was a key suspect in the murders. Jin allegedly stabbed three people at Haidian's Xueqing Lu and Jingshuyuan bus stop on June 27. Two of the stabbing victims died and one was hospitalized. According to witnesses, the murderer fled from the scene of the crime. Despite being chased by one of the victims, he managed to escape.
A Class-A warrant and a bounty of RMB50,000 was issued on June 28 by the Ministry of Public Security.
Jin, who was a local Beijinger, had previously served 12 years in prison.
