English DJ and producer Jamie xx (of The xx) has just released an eerie dystopian music video for his single 'Gosh,' with Hangzhou's fake Parisian town of Tianducheng serving as the backdrop.
The five minute, 22 second visual masterpiece depicts a man dressed in white while leading hundreds of followers on some sort of quest, with the French-style ghost town and construction cranes looming in the background. At the end of the video, the group ends up performing synchronized movements at the foot of the town's 354-foot Eiffel Tower replica.
NPR reports that over 400 extras were used during shooting and that no special CGI effects were used.
The video for the song, which appears on Jamie xx's 2015 In Colour album, was released on Apple Music last week. Watch the Youku version below (VPN off):
The video was directed by Romain Gavras.
