Off-Duty Hong Kong Cop Bites Man at Border Crossing

On June 20, at 2am, something extraordinarily outrageous took place at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Lok Ma Chau border station, when an off-duty Hong Kong cop bit another man.

The 53-year-old police officer, surnamed Lo, was returning to Hong Kong after a visit to Chinese mainland when he got into an altercation with a couple surnamed Auyeung (aged 55 and 33).

The exchange reportedly started on an escalator, after Lo accidently stepped on the couple’s shoes, and led to Mr. Auyeung foolishly (in this case anyway) pointing his finger in the cop’s face. It was in this ‘Frodo versus Gollum’ moment that Lo allegedly bit Mr. Auyeung’s finger.

Luckily for Mr. Auyeung, it sounds like he didn’t lose his finger – unlike Frodo pictured above.

The victim was transport to hospital (probably to check for rabies, based on Lo’s wildly unorthodox behavior) and Lo was arrested on suspicion of assault – although he has since been released on bail.

The case has been handed over to the Border District Criminal Investigation Team.
