Brace yourselves for yet another new entertainment park set to open in Shanghai. It will be in addition to the other international theme parks finding a place in this city, including a possible Michael Jackson theme park"Ferrari World" theme park, the new Shanghai Legoland, and (of course) the much-hyped Shanghai Disneyland.

According to CCTV News, the National Basketball Association of the US will be launching a family entertainment center later this summer in an effort to attract more fans in the Middle Kingdom.

The theme park, located in Shanghai's Hubin Dao Shopping Mall, will reportedly span 1,500 square meters. Without question, the entire park will be very basketball focused. There will be an arena one-third the size of a regulation court, a store, party rooms with a snack bar and obstacle courses.

Some famous team mascots will make regular appearances at the park's NBA Playzone. Clutch, of the Houston Rockets, will likely be the star of the show, since NBA star Yao Ming's years in the team popularized the Rockets as a Chinese favorite.

NBA China CEO David Shoemaker believes that the park will be able to connect NBA China to more young fans and their families. "We are excited for them to learn, interact, and play in a healthy environment," he says.

Bringing the Shanghai basketball park into perspective with the other theme parks, it really is helpful that China is so populated with eager potential customers. Nevertheless, the competition between the parks is bound to be fierce. Choices, choices, choices...
