Shanghai Bus Evacuated Minutes Before Exploding

A bus spontaneously burst into flames in Shanghai yesterday, according to QQ News. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

The incident occurred at around 1pm at the intersection of Siping Lu and Quyang Lu. The fire first broke out at the rear of a Line 55 bus. After smelling smoke, the bus driver immediately pulled over and asked all passengers to evacuate. Within minutes, fire swallowed the entire bus, enveloping it in smoke.

A local fire brigade rushed to the scene and put out the fire within half an hour. The bus was reduced to a charred frame. After a preliminary investigation, the fire department has identified engine trouble as cause of the fire.
