PS Racing, a team founded in 2007 by Pekka Saarinen in Zhuhai, was recently invited to participate in the “world’s greatest endurance race,” the Le Mans 24 Hours, as well as the Road to Le Mans in France this June 18 with Adess-03 LM P3. PS racing and Adess AG decided to join forces this year in order to optimize their success in the competitive race.

An invitational event held at the historic 13.629-kilometer Circuit de la Sarthe, the Road to Le Mans, described as a curtain raiser for the Le Mans 24 Hours main event, will include LMP3s from both the European and Asian Le Mans series, as well as GT3s participating in the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup.

Racers will have one-hour practice sessions on June 15 and 16 before approaching the starting line on June 18 for the one-hour Road to Le Mans race at 11.10am. The main event, Les Mans 24 Hours, will commence later that day and conclude on June 19.

“We are very proud of our achievement as a team and I am very proud of my crew, clients and partners to be able to put this in motion,” said Saarinen, founder of PS Racing.

“The great thing about doing both series is that we’re based in Sepang and Zhuhai, which gives us maybe a small advantage over some of the teams.”

Angelo Negro, an LMP3 driver, was elated upon hearing of the invitation. “Racing in the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit is the dream of any driver,” he said. “I am really pleased to share the experience with my friends, Philippe Prette and Pekka Saarinen. Philippe and I will be sharing the driving while Pekka and his team, PS Racing, will provide the entire assistance with Adess factory support.”

Zhuhai, located along the southern coast of Guangdong province near Macau, was the first permanent motor racing facility in China and has become the center of local and international races on the mainland.

In the mid 1990s, the city’s status as a special economic zone coupled with its bourgeoning middle class made motor racing particularly attractive. Early street races used to bring out crowds of up to 200,000 before the Zhuhai International Circuit was constructed in 1996.
