A lucky one-year-old boy from Dongguan has some fast-acting neighbors to thank after they used a blanket to catch him when he fell from a fourth-floor balcony.

The ninth inning, two outs baby-catch happened on March 8, according to People’s Daily Online, after the boy used a stool to climb over the balcony railing while playing. A neighbor named Xu Bayi is to credit for noticing the boy’s dangerous antics and quickly sounding the alarm.

The dramatic scene was recorded on camera by a pedestrian standing across the road and, although obscured by a vehicle, the video shows a circle of people holding a quilt, ready to catch the baby.

It takes only an instant for the boy to tumble, but, very fortunately, he is safely caught and completely unharmed. Keep your eye on the ball, or in this case – the kid.
