As expected, the Year of the Monkey was rung in across the People’s Republic this week with a resounding bang (bang-bang-bang). Dumplings were eaten, incense was burnt, fireworks were detonated and relationships destroyed over questionable meals

But, as one would also expect, Chinese New Year was given the international treatment, with Chinese communities around the world celebrating in brilliant fashion. Admittedly, many international cities have not held their celebrations yet – for example London’s party isn’t until February 14 – but there is still lots of photographic goodness floating around on the web for you to enjoy.
