With the Miss World 2015 beauty pageant underway in Sanya, let's take a look at the dark haired beauty representing the Middle Kingdom.

"Tough and adventurous" – these are the words this year’s Chinese contestant, in the Miss World 2015 beauty pageant, uses to describe herself.

Hailing from Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei province (and one of China's most polluted cities), Lu Yuan, is currently studying broadcasting and hosting (when she's not getting all dolled up for beauty contests).

Lu, 21, could also be described as ambitious, with aspirations to one day host her own television program, showcasing the beautiful vistas and diverse cuisines that make China such an exotic place.

In her down time, Lu enjoys rocking out on the sensual guzhen (a traditional Chinese string instrument), dancing, running and playing badminton.

Lu is considered to be among the front-runners in this year’s pageant, with women from China traditionally placing well when the competition has been held in the PRC (Yu Wenxua, also of Shijiazhuang, won the Miss World 2012 title on home turf).

Go get ‘em Lu, the That’s team is rooting for you.
