Swipe left! Hong Kong is world's ugliest city according to Tinder survey

According to a bizarrely-biased survey (more on that later) run by Tinder and travel website Expedia, poor lil' Hong Kong has the world's ugliest dating pool - and Los Angeles has the prettiest.

Only 25 percent of people said that Hong Kong's dating pool was "attractive," compared to 37 percent voting for Los Angeles and 36 percent for Rio de Janeiro.

But now for the weird part - the entire survey population was only 1,000 people, and they were all Americans. When it comes to evaluating the usefulness of surveys, one of the most important questions is, "Are there enough different types of people surveyed here to make sure the results aren't skewed?" And no, there just weren't.

Once you note the small size of the survey and its lack of diversity, then the results start to make a lot of sense.

LA, Paris, Rio and Miami apparently have the "hottest dating pools," and coincidentally are cities full of Western-looking hotties. The lowest ranking, by contrast, were Seoul and Hong Kong. Sorry, Asians - this survey just wasn't for you.

If Tinder ran a survey along a broader swath of their user base, there could be some really interesting info there - we'd be particularly interested in who swipes "right" most in Zhongnanhai.
