Getting to the ski-jumping venue for the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 may now be a little easier, as two new light-rail links are expected to open before the end of this year, according to the Beijing Evening News

Line S1, which already serves parts of western Shijingshan and Mentougou districts, will be extended to connect Jin’anqiao and Pingguoyuan stations. Meanwhile, line M11 will run north to south connecting the ski-jumping site with other parts of Shijingshan district.

The site lies in Shougang Park, an old industrial area which is being renovated specially for the 2022 Winter Games. The park lies on Fushi road (阜石路) which has been dubbed the ‘Winter Olympics Avenue.’

Shougang is part of the Beijing Winter Olympic Park (not to be confused with the Olympic Park built for the 2008 summer games) which will later be opened to the public. One particular highlight of the park is a 42 kilometer-long running track.

The Winter Olympic Park is expected to be open by October of this year.
