Hong Kong’s Café Landmark is the first place you’ll see when you enter Wangfujing’s ritzy new WF Central, which makes it feel more like a hotel lobby than a traditional cafe. The club sandwich is adequate – tasty fillings of roast chicken, bacon and well-prepared egg are a nice touch – yet at RMB88, the soggy bottom layer is pretty inexcusable. The ‘speciality’ caramel latte is fine, but then again, an RMB52 price tag has us questioning whether it’s RMB20 better than the Starbucks equivalent. The blow from an additional 10-percent service charge is softened by the exceptional service.
