Tasting Moments is the little sister of popular Taiwan joint Taoyuan Village, but, unfortunately, doesn’t live up to expectations. Their stylish modern decor looks great, but even its minimalist, pale adornments seem to have more flavor than the food on offer. Our Sichuan chicken shaobing (RMB34) is adequate, the chicken thigh juicy and tender, but the Sichuan spice never fully arrives. Tasting Moments’ dainty youtiao are disappointing in size and flavor as well. On the positive side, the strawberry and banana smoothie (RMB26) is delicious, but again, small. One quick moment of tasting is all that’s necessary here.
