A Complete Guide to Valentine's Day Dinners & Events in Beijing

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. As always there are tons of special meals, enormous buffets and super fancy dinners being served around Beijing for the big day (Wed Feb 14). But for those of you who aren’t interested in doing the whole romantic dinner thing, there are a few food-and-drink deals and parties going on around town too. 

The Great Wall Hotel

The French Bistro at The Great Wall Hotel will be preparing a romantic French meal featuring grilled Australian Tomahawk steak, pan-fried deep-sea cod, French truffle goose liver mousse, raspberry tiramisu and more.

EAST  

The ever-enjoyable EAST, Beijing is serving Valentine’s Day specials for every taste. At Feast, enjoy their signature Surf and Turf buffet, featuring the finest steaks and seafood, plus free-flow wines, beer and roses. If you’re craving sushi, hit up Hagaki, where the special menu includes sashimi, star rolls and a special Valentine’s Day dessert. And no matter where you go for dinner, keep the romance going at Xian, where they’ll be offering ‘Bubbly Love Champagne’ packages, featuring Perrier-Jouët and damn tasty oysters.

Migas Mercado

Migas Mercado is offering an excellent Valentine's Day menu for both lunch and dinner. Deets are in the poster above.

NUO 

NUO is preparing all sorts of romantic feasts for the occasion. N’Joy will have a Valentine's Day dinner buffet (RMB998 per couple, including free-flow wine and beer). O'Bar will serve up a special meal (RMB1,314 per couple, including wine or Champagne). And Jia will have a 5-course set lunch and dinner (RMB888 per couple, including a bottle of sparkling rose wine).

Grill 79

If you want to go all out for your date, Grill 79 (China World Summit Wing, Beijing) is serving a delectable set dinner. The menu will include gourmet specialties like Osetra and Beluga Caviar, fresh oysters, cured salmon and smoked pigeon. This 5-course menu also includes poached lobster and Wagyu beef tenderloin, as well as a special dessert.

Bistrot B

You can't go wrong with Bistro B and their 6-course dinner. Starters include Gillardeau Oysters with Toasted Nori Nage, Osetra Caviar and Preserved Lemon and Dungeness Crab with Celery Remoulade, Pigeon Consommé with Foie Gras Ravioli and more. Mains include your choice of Dover Sole Fricassee or Duo of Wagyu Beef. For dessert is your choice of either Honey-Poached Pear or a Chocolate Mirror Tart.

InfraRouge

InfraRouge is offering a special “Rouge Lover” 6-course set menu, complete with "red" ingredients. To give you an idea, there will be fresh oysters with red shallot compote, Norwegian salmon with beetroot-rose vegetables, basil-infused lobster velouté, Australian beef tenderloin with pepper sauce and much more.

Da Giorgio

Chef Matteo Moretti is concocting a 5-course menu featuring French oysters, Australian beef, Alaskan king crab. The meal will be topped off with a white chocolate raspberry cake.

Aria

Asia Bistro

Asia Bistro at JW Marriott Hotel Beijing is putting an interactive spin on Valentine's (and the entire month of February) with a red neon light backdrop at the front of the restaurant. The idea is 'Where there is light, there is love.' But, where there's light, there's also lucky draws: if you take a photo with the backdrop, and show the staff, you have the chance to enter a lucky draw with lots of prizes up for grabs. The team at Asia Bistro are also offering a special selection of lobster, oysters and scallops for you to enjoy with your loved ones.

China Grill

On February 10 and 14, China Grill Chef de Cuisine Federico Carsili is preparing a set dinner with signatures dishes including flambéed French oysters, Russian 'Emperor' crab emulsion and grilled 'chocolate' Wagyu beef all paired with a glass of rose Champagne.

Kerry’s Kitchen is putting a lotta love into their Valentine's Day feasts. First, they'll have a romantic buffet dinner. And by romantic we mean you'll literally be serenaded with music. You can also opt for an intimate candle-lit, 4-course set dinner.
