& The Drop join forces to bring in this dynamic duo. The critically
acclaimed Sinjin Hawke has collaborated with Just Blaze, DJ Rashad and
MikeQ and produced for Kanye West and Frank Ocean (!). And then there’s
Zora Jones (pictured), a masterful technician of sound whose style is
described by Pitchfork as “spellbinding” and “fascinating.” Expect
experimental sounds you won’t hear anywhere else.
year ago, Rumble in the Jumble was born “out of a love for British
jumble sales and American thrift stalls.” Since then, the monthly market
has taken on its own magnificent form featuring a mix of haberdashery
and homemade goodies. From baking, clothing, jewelry, books and more,
the bazaar is a one-stop shop for all things vintage and craft. This
month is an extra special one as the rumble celebrates its first
anniversary with a birthday party featuring the usual stalls and more,
plus a party afterwards with music from Rebel5. Applications for stalls
will be open from Aug 1, so if you’re more of a maker rather than buyer,
be sure to sign up quick.
NEU ’17 is billed as China’s “first international future festival” -- basically a rad tech and music conference highlighting artists from China and Berlin -- and it will take place this weekend at venues all around Beijing. There will also be an epic after party at Migas on Saturday. NEU is going totally 80s for the celebration. The drinks will be flowing and the music will be bumping. Plus it's a great chance to mingle with your favorite speakers and artists from the festival.
Head over to Zarah on Saturday for an epic day of music and drinks. The 算盘 (suànpán ) social is just the first of many parties that will be popping up around the capital in the future. Saturday will also be a preview of the much-anticipated party at Dada on September 8, which will feature JD Twitch and JG Wilkes (aka Optimo). Expect delightfully eclectic sets from resident DJs Tanner and Juhstynn as well as a bunch of local favorites. There will also be tons of drinks provided by Zarah and a barbeque with meat and vegetarian options. FYI, this might be one of the last barbeque events of the summer, so enjoy while you can!
Club Paradise is teaming up with Hatchery for a tropical Sunday rooftop party. DJs Ted Dancin', Chloe and Gary Boozy will provide the soundtrack. And of course there will be a full supply of tropical cocktails. Sunday Funday, indeed.
