Beijing police had been conducting a manhunt since the attack occurred in the suburban district of Miyun on Sunday. Wang allegedly stabbed five people with a pair of scissors. He reportedly fled the scene in his van in an attempt to escape and plowed into a group of people. Eight were injured in the hit and run and one was killed.

The injured were immediately taken to the hospital where they were treated, Xinhua reported Sunday.
