Ex-Oasis Frontman Liam Gallagher to Perform in Beijing, Shenzhen

All you '90s kids get ready because Liam Gallagher, the former singer of Oasis, is coming to China for the first time ever. He’ll be performing a solo show in Beijing at the National Olympic Sports Center on August 10 and in Shenzhen at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center on August 12. Tickets are now on sale, as of today. We’re guessing these are going to be wildly popular shows, so if you’re a fan you might want to swoop up some tickets soon.

In case you need a little refresher Oasis was basically one of the most popular bands of the '90s. Whenever we hear songs like 'Champagne Supernova' and 'Wonderwall' we can’t help but reminisce. For a lot of us (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was a major part of our childhood soundtrack.

Despite the fact that Oasis bandmates (and brothers) Liam and Noel Gallagher were (seemingly) living the life as international superstars, it's well documented that it wasn't exactly a smooth ride. The two were seemingly always embroiled in some sort of drama with each other, with the press, with everyone

If you’re not familiar with the drama-filled backstory of Oasis and the Gallagher brothers you should definitely watch the 2016 documentary Oasis: Supersonic. There are drugs, meltdowns, fights… at one point Liam throws a tambourine at Noel during a show. It’s fascinating and we highly recommend it.

To be honest, given the destructive and tumultuous relationship between the two bothers it’s not all that surprising that the band split in 2009.

Aside from touring with the band Beady Eye – which was comprised of ex-Oasis band members – from 2009 to 2014, Liam really hasn’t been up to all that much since Oasis called it quits. But the good news is that Liam's iconic voice isn't going to waste. He's now playing solo shows and is currently working on his first solo album, which is set to be released later this year. We're guessing he'll be showcasing some of his new songs during his China tour.

This actually isn’t the first time Liam has attempted to perform in China. Oasis was supposed to play in both Beijing and Shanghai back in 2009. However the licenses for both shows were suddenly and inexplicably revoked by the Chinese government, so they never happened. Some said the promoter was in a "tough economic situation." However there are rumors that there were other reasons.

Either way, Liam Gallagher is all set to perform two shows on the Mainland this summer. Fingers crossed these don’t get canceled!
