First Lululemon Store Set to Open in Beijing

It’s not like Lululemon’s super cute athletic wear hasn’t been available to those of us living in Beijing. It has. But only in the form of a rather small and stripped-down showroom in Taikoo Li North. But starting this month, everyone's favorite yoga clothing brand is finally taking the plunge and opening up its first-ever real store in Beijing – Sanlitun to be exact.

The store is set to open its doors this month. The brand will also launch its Chinese e-commerce site this week. In addition to two shops in Shanghai, the new Beijing branch will be the third real Lululemon store in Chinese mainland

Previously, Beijing’s showroom only offered a limited selection of all that much-coveted Lululemon gear, which was sold through Tmall. The brand was presumably testing the waters in cities like Beijing, but it appears that it's taking steps to capitalize on its increasing popularity in China. Given that the company received more than 10,000 transactions during Singles Day, it’s pretty clear that there is a big market for the brand's signature yoga and athletic clothing among Chinese consumers.
