There might be good news for those of us living in Beijing who are currently sitting in our apartments and offices chilled to the bone. The capital's central heating might actually be turned on early this year.
Because of the recent frigid temperatures and a cold snap that is expected to smack Beijing next week, officials will meet in Beijing tomorrow to reevaluate which day the heat will be turned on, China Daily reports.
Currently, the heat is scheduled to be switched on November 15. However, as a general rule, the heating can be turned on early if Beijing experiences five consecutive days with an average temperature of below 5 C.
