Hatchery, Beijing’s culinary incubator-cum-party spot, announced today that it will be closing – this weekend.
The sudden announcement comes six months after its opening, and the Hatchery team plans to go out with a bang with one last celebration, tomorrow.
The team has been vague about their reasons for closing the space, but they will continue to work on other projects going forward. An official press release reads: “The Hatchery team will continue to develop our proprietary incubation platform and have more news coming in the near future of where we’ll be popping up next!”
Says Hatchery’s Platform Director Ben Mankarious: “We’re excited to move forward onto new and exciting projects and want to thank our community of diners, entrepreneurs, collaborators and suppliers for their support during our first six months. Hopefully we see all the familiar faces back for one last bash!”
And what a bash it will be. Saturday, August 13’s festivities will run from noon till late, and feature a variety of drink and food specials throughout the day, including RMB25 beer bottles and RMB40 cocktails. Best yet, the team behind Pie-licious will be giving pizzas away for free from noon-1pm and 5-6pm (they’ll be 50-percent off the rest of the day, too).
Stop by for booze, snacks and beats provided by DJs Ted Dancin’ and Brother Ping.
