Scantily Clad Male Models Kicked out of Wangjing Event

Beijing-based companies really, really like to promote their products using scantily clad models. Remember that time when a provocatively dressed milk lady led a cow through the streets of Beijing as she peddled fresh milk to passersby? Yeah, so do we.

Well, it seems as if an app company came up with an equally crazy idea. However, this time the use of half-naked models wasn't so well received. A group of scantily clad male models was kicked out of a public square in Wangjing on Friday afternoon, South China Morning Post reports.

The young men, who were participating in a promotional event for an app company, were wearing masks, short white skirts, leggings and no shirts. As part of the event, they were dancing in front of onlookers and posing with passersby.

It was all fun and games until one man started berating the models for “corrupting public morals” and began reprimanding them in front of the crowd, the article reports.

The models were promptly asked to leave the premises.

Apparently the use of scantily clad models as a marketing strategy can be very hit or miss.
