Single Malt and Single Hop
EKUANOT SMaSH

SMaSH beers celebrate simplicity by using just a single type of malt, a single hop, and, of course, just one yeast strain. Nothing complicated, just a beer in which every ingredient can shine.

This time, we swapped out the US hop El Dorado for the multifaceted Ekuanot hop (originally known as Equniox), which has a high oil content with a complex array of citrusy, fruity and herbal aromatics. To keep things light and crisp, like the El Dorado Session Ale, we paired the Ekuanot hop with our go-to European Pilsner malt to provide the backbone for this beer.

The resulting beer has bright tropical fruit notes reminiscent of papaya and citrus oil, with a finish that perfectly blends a subtle spicy bitterness with light malt sweetness.
