What words comes to mind when you think of speed dating? Fun, perhaps. Humorous. Convenient. Awkward. Anxiety inducing.

We want to remix your standard speed dating by taking the pressure off of the small talk.

This is Silent Speed Dating! A new type of event where you can set free the inner poet in you. Instead of speaking directly with a bunch of strangers, you’ll be asked to write something to each of the attendees. We strongly encourage poetry, but all forms of creative writing are welcome, just make sure you don’t include your real name. Part of the fun is keeping this as anonymous as possible, until the end of the writing period when all of the notes will be collected and distributed to their recipients. At this time everyone can decide on one anonymous writer whose identity they would like to be revealed.

This event will be hosted in English and Chinese but is open to speakers of all languages
