Chris Classic Movie Club and The Butcher’s Hook proudly present Movie Mondays: The Star Wars Saga. Every Monday at Butcher's Hook until December 16, they will be showing one Star Wars film. Attend all nine screenings for the chance to win a free movie ticket from Sherpa’s to see the latest Star Wars film, Rise of Skywalker, in theaters.

Bob Dylan is well known as one of the world’s most influential and groundbreaking musicians. But did you know he has a long history as an extremely talented visual artist? The first retrospective exhibition of Bob Dylan’s visual artworks – Retrospectrum – debuted at the Modern Art Museum (MAM) in Shanghai on September 28 and will run through January 5. Spanning five decades of the artist’s career, and seven series of works, Retrospectrum will mark the artist’s most comprehensive art exhibition to date, enabling visitors to experience Dylan’s artwork in a uniquely immersive and interactive environment.

Nov 30: W-inds


Japanese pop boy band W-inds is headed to Shanghai on November 30. The group is made up of lead singer Ryohei Chiba and backup singers/rappers Keita Tachibana and Ryuichi Ogata. The band formed after each member passed dance auditions to join the group. The trio was then signed to Vision Factory's esteemed label in 2000. The group promptly moved to Tokyo and started garnering attention by giving street performances in Yoyogi Park and Shibuya. W-inds released their debut single, "Forever Memories," in 2001 and catapulted to fame. They were named 'Best New Artists' at the Japan Cable Awards and Japan Record Awards for the release of "Paradox." In addition to selling 5 million copies of CDs in Japan, Wind-s has earned numerous awards from China and South Korea. And now the group is all set to perform in Shanghai as part of their 2019 Live Tour.

Dec 1: Allie X

Canadian singer and songwriter Allie X is slated to perform in China for the first time ever in December. The indie pop icon got her start in Toronto in 2006, but her career really began to take off after she moved to LA in 2013. Since then, she's released her debut single "Catch," which rose to number 55 on the Canadian Hot 100 and was highly praised by Katy Perry on Twitter as her "spring jam." Her acclaimed EP CollXtion I was released in 2015, followed by two studio albums: CollXtion II: Unsolved (2017) and Super Sunset (Analog) (2018). Allie X has also collaborated with artists such as Troye Sivan and Lea Michele. The songwriter co-wrote Sivan's "Youth," Blue Neighborhood and LP Bloom. In addition to her amazing vocals and songs, Allie X is known for her highly fashionable outfits and dramatic live shows. You can check out her Shanghai performance on December 1 at VasLive. This is one concert that should not be missed.
