All Month Long: The Beauty from Finite to Infinite


Featuring the newest creations of contemporary artist/painter Zhu Yuze, this exhibition showcases his signature style of blending Chinese and Western-style oil painting to showcase the harmony between life and nature.

All Month Long: Zhou Haiyun’s Embroidery Exhibition

A tradition of Suzhou since the Song dynasty, many modern day embroiderers based in small towns near Taihu dedicate their lives to preserve this age-old craft. Suzhou born craftswoman Zhou Haiyun, who has more than 40 years of experience in this field and is known for her depiction of local sceneries with embroidery, will be showcasing her work at the Suzhou Museum.

Wednesdays: Senoritas Night Out

It's senoritas night out every Wednesday at Hemingway! Ladies get a free welcome drink (fruity rum punch) from 9pm to midnight. Book a table before 7pm to receive a free pitcher of fruity rum for the whole squad. All night long, there will also be drink specials on a selction of drinks, including wine, beer and punch. There will be also salsa dancing to ensure it's a fun evening for all.

Thursdays: Roses Are Red Wine Promotion

Every Thursday, Volcity Wine Lounge will be pouring their excellent rose wines by the glass. Your first two glasses are half price between 1pm and 8pm. Enjoy a drink out on the patio or in the garden as the weather heats up. Snacks will also be provided.

Apr 4: Flight Night

Every Wednesday night at Volcity Wine Lounge, enjoy a special wine tasting. For just RMB150 per person, each flight will include three glasses of select high-end wines. Other wines not included in the flight will be 20 percent off from 7-9pm (including glasses and bottles). Snacks will also be provided throughout the evening.

Apr 6: Birth of the 7th Art 

Chris Classic Movie Club presents the Birth of the 7th Art movie class, screening and exhibition. Start with a two-part class, followed by HD screenings of the first movies shot by Louis Lumiere operators around the world between 1895-1905, including the first motion pictures of London. Afterwards, check out the unique exhibition feature rare artifacts from early cinema.

Apr 13: Lawrence Ku Trio

Renowned Chinese-American guitarist Lawrence Ku, who performs regularly alongside some of the biggest names in music including Karen Mok and Li Ronghao, will be performing in Suzhou for one night with famous Taiwanese bassist Michael Ning and drummer John Thomas. Expect plenty of chemistry as the trio rocks the stage with their instruments.

Apr 14: Workplace Wellbeing Summit

SKEMA Business School is excited to invite you to its second Workplace Wellbeing Summit organized by the SKEMA Happiness Association. Apr 20: Martin Stadtfeld Piano Recital

Since winning the 2002 International Bach Competition, 37-year-old German pianist Martin Stadtfeld has established himself as one of the world's most prominent interpreters of classical music. After performing with renowned orchestras in Europe, Japan, Korea and the US, Stadtfeld will pay homage to great composers like Bach, Schubert and show off his own musical creations in this concert.

Apr 20-22: Powwow Theatre Take 5

Suzhou's first nonprofit local theatre, Powwow Theatre, returns to the Locke Pub stage this month with Take 5. Enter into a world of power, struggle, gritty humor and a roller coaster of emotions with a series of original plays and films from Powwow's diverse team of writers, actors and directors. Apr 29: Suzhou That Beat
