Visitors to Shenzhen's Window of the World theme park got a sight they weren't expecting: a naked man perched atop the replica Eiffel Tower threatening to jump.
Window of the World is theme park containing 130 reproductions of some of the most famous tourist attractions in the world, including a 108 metre (354 ft) tall Eiffel Tower. On May 18, a man climbed to the top of the tower, stripped to his underwear, and threatened to jump.
According to the Huaxi Metropolis Daily, the man's house in Sichuan Province had been demolished by local authorities in a land dispute and he was attempting to bring attention to his plight.
On his body, the man had written "help the ordinary people of Nanchong" (his hometown).
It is unclear from the report what ultimately befell the climber.
