August 27 marked a significant milestone in international air travel, as Shenzhen Airlines officially inaugurated a direct flight service from Shenzhen to its sister city of Barcelona, Spain.

The inaugural flight, coded ZH9065, took off at 0.05am on August 27 and smoothly touched down in Barcelona at 8.05am local time the same day, symbolizing the beginning of a new era of connectivity between the two vibrant cities.

The newly established route by Shenzhen Airlines operates two flights weekly, departing from Shenzhen every Monday and Friday, and takes approximately 14 hours.
The year 2023 holds special significance for China and Spain, as it marks the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
Additionally, this year commemorates the two-year anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Shenzhen and Barcelona.
Presently, Shenzhen Airlines operates a total of 12 international and regional routes directly from Shenzhen.
Among these, there are two direct routes connecting Shenzhen to Europe: Shenzhen to London and the recently inaugurated Shenzhen to Barcelona route.
Looking ahead, Shenzhen Airlines is set to launch yet another international direct route, connecting Shenzhen to Manila, Philippines.
