For passengers in Guangzhou, conducting check-in procedures at the Pazhou Ferry Terminal undoubtedly brings significant convenience. Since its inauguration on April 14, the Pazhou Ferry Terminal has seen over 27,000 travelers entering and exiting the region. As more airlines have started offering UCI services from this terminal to Hong Kong International Airport, the option becomes more popular. Notably, Air Canada becomes the 14th international airline to offer this service at the Pazhou Ferry Terminal, joining the ranks of carriers like Japan Airlines, Air France, and Air New Zealand.

Hong Kong International Airport serves as a gateway connecting to over 220 global destinations, serving as the international hub for the Greater Bay Area. As a favored transit hub for Greater Bay Area passengers, Hong Kong continues to enhance its cross-border transportation network.

The pandemic severely impacted passenger traffic at airports, but recovery is ongoing. According to Michael Yuen, General Manager of Hub Development, Hong Kong Airport Authority, the passenger volume at Hong Kong International Airport has now recovered to around 65% of pre-pandemic levels. He stated, "As of now, in August, we are processing an average of around 130,000 passengers per day. We expect to reach around 80% of pre-pandemic levels by the end of this year and to fully recover by the end of 2024."
