4,160 Cases of COVID-19 in Guangdong Province

Guangdong province has reported a total of 4,160 new cases of COVID-19, 219 of which were symptomatic and 3,941 of which are asymptomatic.

The cases per city are as follows:

Symptomatic

  • Guangzhou: 189

  • Shenzhen: 2

  • Zhuhai: 1

  • Shantou: 1

  • Foshan: 1

  • Shaoguan: 4

  • Heyuan: 1

  • Dongguan: 1

  • Yangjiang: 1

  • Maoming: 10

  • Qingyuan: 8

Asymptomatic

  • Guangzhou: 3876

  • Shenzhen: 4

  • Zhuhai: 2

  • Shantou: 1

  • Foshan: 21

  • Shaoguan: 1

  • Meizhou: 3

  • Huizhou: 1

  • Dongguan: 16

  • Zhongshan: 2

  • Yangjiang: 2

  • Maoming: 7

  • Qingyuan: 3

  • Jieyang: 2

The situation in Guangzhou is as follows…

Guangzhou reported 4,065 new cases of COVID-19 today, Monday, November 14, an increase of 412 from yesterday's 3,653.

It marks the third day that COVID-19 cases have increased in a row and the first time that the city has reported more than 4,000 cases in one day.

Here's a breakdown of the numbers reported today:

  • 189 symptomatic cases

  • 3,876 asymptomatic cases

Throughout the outbreak, the majority of cases have been contained within Haizhu district and today only 10 cases were found outside of some form of isolation.

  • 2,079 cases were found in centralized quarantine.

  • 2,887 cases were found in at-home isolation.

  • 69 cases were found in high-risk areas.

  • 12 cases were found via close contact screening.

  • 10 cases were found in community screening.

  • 6 cases were found in the inspection of key personnel in closed-loop management.

  • 1 case was found in the active screening of medical personnel.

  • 1 case was found through active consultation.

Despite the rise in cases, Haizhu district today announced that they would be resuming public transport services on Dongxiao Road to the west of Changgang Road and Keyun Road to the east of Haizhu District. In other areas of Haizhu district, subways, trams, buses, taxis and ride-hailing services and shared bikes will remain suspended.
