Thunder, Lightning and Rain to Hit Guangdong This Week

By That's Shenzhen, May 17, 2021

The weather in the city has been magnificent. Sunny blue skies and breezy nights with a punch of humidity have been the norm.

Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory issued the city’s first high temperature yellow warning this year yesterday on May 16. It’s almost a month earlier than last year’s first heat warning (June 12).

Strong thunderstorms are on the forecast for Guangdong province starting tomorrow. Heavy rains will affect all parts of Guangdong along with strong lightning, thunder and a chance of hail.

It might be a good idea to bring an umbrella out tomorrow unless you want to get soaked by Mother Nature.

Despite thunderstorms in the forecast, the weather will still be very hot this week so remember to hydrate and find shade where possible.
