After several years as one of the go-to bars in Shuiwei, Evil Duck is saying farewell. This will be the last week its doors will be open (so be sure to check out the quiz night by Dan on Thursday at 8.30pm!).

One of the proprietors Darragh Hudson wrote,

“Thank YOU! You that have celebrated birthdays with us, you that have picked us for your engagement party, you that had ‘just one more,’ you that sang, danced and loved. We couldn’t have done it without you. This past year has been a struggle for all of us, in different ways, and for the Duck it was just too big a struggle to overcome. We want to remember the good times however and we want you to enjoy this last week with us, the last open mic, the last quiz, the last training session... We love you. We will be back in some form. Have a good life.”

Like many F&B establishments, the pandemic took a hit on business, and additionally Evil Duck’s management is still stuck outside of China.

The dive bar was known for its trivia nights, comfort food like grilled cheese and of course their craft beer selection. If you’re still craving a similar vibe, Craft Head run by some of the same folks is still open in Xinzhou, Futian district.
