Sat, Dec 19: Islamic Philosophy: Al Ghazali

It’s 11th century Persia. The Islamic world is being swept away by neoplatonic philosophy, and a philosopher – Al-Ghazali – publishes his seminal work: The Incoherence of Philosophers. It transforms the world he is a part of but is rife for attack. A refutation of his work (a Raad), The Incoherence of Incoherence was published by Spanish philosopher Ibn Rushd (Averroes) and debate on both these works continues. Al-Ghazali remains a thought provoking philosopher to this day, so join them as they discuss the fascinating times of this radical philosopher, theologian and mystic.
