From November 16-22, Marriott International hosted the 2020 Global Customer Appreciation Week, marked as one of its major corporate events of the year. Nearly 60 hotels in South China, including Yunnan, Guangdong and Guangxi, participated in the week-long thank you events. The events thanked new and old customers for their support and recognition of Marriott International in the past year.
During the Global Customer Appreciation Week, a wide range of activities were carried out to serve the Southern community. Staff from 11 hotels in Guangzhou gathered at the Guangzhou landmark, Flower City Square, to clean up the debris by the roadside and also encouraged the public to volunteer. Sixteen hotels in Shenzhen worked closely and paid a visit to the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen, one of the designated COVID-19 hospitals. Medical staff who were frontline fighters against the COVID-19 were served afternoon tea as a thank you for their due diligence during the height of the pandemic.
The Hotels’ management and sales representatives in the Southern region conducted in-depth exchanges with representatives of well-known local companies through on-site visits. They offered coffee and entertainment performances arranged by the hotels in the area. In addition appreciation dinners were held in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Heyuan. With the theme of ‘Your Welcome Awaits’, various authentic cuisine and live performances were unveiled at The Westin Pazhou in Guangzhou and Renaissance Shenzhen Bay Hotel. At the same time, Marriott International brands in the Southern region collaborated with Xpeng Motors, one of China’s leading smart electric vehicle (EV) company for low-carbon travel at the Four Points by Sheraton Heyuan Resort. Customers and media partners were invited to enjoy a trial run with Xpeng Motors EV, in addition to go to hot springs and other activities for a bit of R&R during the event.
