Following Shanghai’s lead, Guangdong announced yesterday that online classes will commence on March 2 for primary schools, middle schools, vocational schools and colleges.

Kindergartens and special education schools will not be required to attend online class and remain closed for the foreseeable future. For teachers, please check with your employer what may be the case for your school.

Lastly, the date that school will be back in session is still undetermined. The Guangdong Provincial Department of Education is monitoring the current COVID-19 situation and will announce a date at a later time.

This is the third delay of classes since the epidemic started in January. The first announcement delayed the opening of schools until February 17 and February 24, and the second announcement ordered schools to remain closed until March.
