In the heart of a bustling city, a fragrant cup of aromatic coffee to start the morning is a must for many people, and for some a cocktail is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day. At the start of 2020, Starbucks Reserve & Bar Mixato, a perfect fusion of high-quality select coffee and a full bar experience, opened on the third floor of Shenzhen Ping An Finance Center. This is the second Bar Mixato store in Shenzhen, and the ninth in China. Enter Starbucks’ reimagined ‘third space,’ an elevated place to gather and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
The charm of Shenzhen is its constant evolution, its rapid change. The store was thoughtfully designed and personalized for the city. Upon entering, you’re greeted with Bar Mixato’s large free standing bar, with Shenzhen’s skyline in neon lights serving as a backdrop. In another alcove, Shenzhen in Chinese characters is crafted using recycled Starbucks Reserve coffee cards.
Paying homage to Starbuck’s twin-tail mermaid logo and Shenzhen’s tech culture – a mermaid mural was constructed using recycled keyboard keys. All artworks in the store are ‘green’ creations which serve to inspire patrons.
Bar Mixato aims to create a refreshing and complete bar experience for customers with highly creative cocktails from passionate and professional bartenders.
Starbucks extends its endless love and excellence of coffee to the field of cocktails, constantly exploring the boundaries of coffee and wine. If you’re wondering what is the perfect crossover drink that blends coffee and cocktails, look no further than the espresso martini which pairs espresso with vodka.
Another feature cocktail is Lemon Velvet, which pairs cold brew coffee with vodka and freshly squeezed lemon juice. The sweet and sour bitterness works in harmony to give a surprisingly rich taste.
While stopping by Ping An Finance Center, one of Shenzhen’s major landmarks, take the time to relax, grab a cup of coffee or cocktail and take a moment for yourself.
