Fri, Jan 10: Neun Welten @ B10 Live

Neun Welten meaning ‘nine worlds’ in German, is a German music group primarily incorporating instrumental acoustic, traditional and dark folk in their music. Although composed of dark folk, the melodies are dreamy, playful and incorporate classical elements. Their 2017 album, The Sea I'm Diving In, has been described as a theatrical album which is “vast, elegantly experimental and cool as hell” by Sputnik music.

Fri, Jan 10: Space Station x 咸空气 @ Hou Live

Two bands, Space Station and 咸空气 (Xiankongqi), will be rocking the stage at Hou Live this Friday. Post rock band Space Station hails from Guangzhou and Xiankongqi is a local band from Shenzhen, both which were formed in 2014. Xiangkongqi describes their sound like the wind blowing from the island, salty, astringent, ignorant and sweet. Both bands will have you swaying to their rhythmic melodies all night long.

Sat, Jan 11: Oil Presents Ben UFO & Yu Su @ Oil

British DJ Ben UFO, founder of record label Hessle Audio, is coming to the Greater Bay Area this Saturday to what’s expected to be a packed house at Oil. Having been immersed in the emerging dubstep scenes in London and Leeds back in 2005, Ben UFO’s DJ style was shaped by those early years. However, he’s still finding ways to explore sounds both old and new, from house and garage to dubstep and grime, the man is a skilled selector and mixer. If there’s one place you’ll want to be on Saturday night, it’s here.
