We’ve gathered four concerts happening in the Pearl River Delta throughout July in which music, neon lights and the major seventh chord are sure to evoke joyful connections.
1. Jul 11-12: Amazing Show
Amazing Show are unique in the Taiwan music scene for making their own instruments, with which they compose, perform and record their music. Their 2019 single ‘挡一根’ temporarily sat at the top of the charts on major music streaming platforms. Most notably, it gained millions of views on YouTube, which is pretty epic for an independent band of their kind. The group is able to create music that relates to the youth of today – their sound truly belongs to and represents the essence of the 21st century.

2. Jul 12-13: Panic Worm
Summer brings out all of our hidden desires, but lucky for all of you indie fans, Wuhan-band Panic Worm is here to fulfill those desires for you. After breaking out in 2018 with the release of the record Elusive Magic, the group is back with another fantastic release in new track ‘New Medium.’ Panic Worm is a band that strives to produce a uniquely cultish, post punk aesthetic. Their songs give off the vibe of romantic sadness, presenting this emotion in the form of rigid, seemingly serious yet outlandish compositions. Panic Worm’s live shows are a must-see for music geeks who enjoy things that are weird and unconventional.

3. Jul 20: Milky Moon
Milky Moon is a group of romantic and sweet young artists. In keeping with the incurable left-wing naivety of their youth, the band named their 2019 tour ‘Left-Wing Romanticism,’ and their music fits this title perfectly. Milky Moon’s sound possesses both dreamy and pop music qualities. For those seeking feverish, dream-like experiences in a livehouse setting, this is definitely the show for you.

4. Jul 20: Songs Between Two Land
Songs Between Two Land is a jazz quintet comprised of musicians from Italy and China – two faraway lands with radically different cultures and musical styles. Despite the multitude of barriers that exist between them, these five incredibly talented musicians unite here, allowing the audience the opportunity to experience a marvelous clash of musical styles from two exotic cultures. This live show is perfect for those who are seeking laidback vibes. Kick back, enjoy a drink or two and soak up the mellow, toned-down neon lights and mesmerizing jazz.
